Food and Beverage Server

Founded in 1880, London’s premier private club, The London Club is looking for applicants to fill the position of Food and Beverage Server. Located in the heart of Downtown London, seconds from parking and public transit, The London Club offers flexible hours and the desire to work with energetic and enthusiastic people. If you are a hardworking, self-motivated and driven individual who enjoys working in a fast paced team environment then the London Club is for you. Experience in a private club is not required, however an open mind, willingness to learn and a commitment to provide the best service to our members is. Applicants should have strong customer service skills and the ability to service multiple table sections quickly and accurately. Experience in hospitality is required. Position Duties & Responsibilities
  • Arrive on time, well groomed, and dressed in the appropriate club uniform. 
  • Greeting, seating and serving members.
  • Taking and confirming orders and relaying to kitchen or bar staff.
  • Serving food and alcohol.
  • Bussing, cleaning and resetting tables.
  • Cleaning duties such as stocking, sanitizing, sweeping, etc. 
  • Maintain a professional and friendly attitude at all times.
  • Possess complete knowledge of all menus in order to answer any questions members or guests may have.
  • Professionally present, open and serve bottles of wine. 
  • Efficiently prepare, pour and deliver your own beverages.
  • Follow health and safety procedures for handling and storing food products in a safe and sanitary manner.
  • Monitor and restock inventory on a FIFO process.
  • Contribute to the setup, service and tear down of club events.
  • Move tables, set up chairs, place tablecloths, place settings and prepare buffets for events. 
Job Requirements
  • Valid Smart Serve Certification
  • Flexible availability
Experience
  • Preferred experience in a service role.
  • Banquet or restaurant service in a club, hotel or catering service considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with JONAS preferred.
  • Customer service experience considered an asset.
Working conditions
  • Ability to work 6-8 hours (sometimes longer) at a time.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (I.e. cases of wine, tables, etc.).
  • Ability to move up and down stairs is required.
